Project Description: Rotem Amfert Negev is an integrated, multinational phosphate group manufacturing and marketing a comprehensive range of products based on phosphate rock as raw material and leading to downstream derivatives including phosphoric acids, fertilizers, specialty chemicals and phosphate salts.
The company needed a tool that validates production information, data quality, and helps produce clean, consistent, and reliable data. Ludan Software and Control Systems assessed the situation and selected software that best suited the client's needs.
The central software used was OsiSoft's SigmaFine, a data reconciliation and data validation software that performs Mass balancing, energy balancing and component balancing.
The goal of the project was to install a production information management system for greater reliability, quality and availability of production data, integration of other existing systems (ERP system, PI software and lab software) with SigmaFine and allowing for production flexibility during transitions in the production process and materials.
The turnkey project was developed and applied throughout the plant by project managers who were managed by a steering committee that consisted of representatives from the client and Ludan.
The project, which took two and a half years to complete, brought organizational changes in reporting activity, integration with existing software and report and control processes.
