Project Description: The Dead Sea Bromine Company is the world's largest producer of elemental bromine and a recognized leader in the development and supply of a growing family of bromine compounds. The Company plays a major role in the global bromine market and its achievements emanate from its quality, reliability and innovation. Over 3000 customers on five continents rely on the Company products.
The work at the Bromine Compound Company, a subsidiary of Israel Chemical Ltd, started as project to build an archive and grew into a project to install an engineering data management tool that manages Instrumentation, equipment and engineering data.
The central software used was SmarTeam, which delivers enterprise-scale, real-time visual collaboration to distributed project teams in the manufacturing industry. Its comprehensive enterprise PLM functionality is delivered via a flexible, dynamic product suite noted for rapid implementation, easy scalability and customizability, and best-of-breed integrations that create a true multi-CAx environment.
The objectives were:
• Archive management
• To create, edit, view, control and annotate documents and drawings with complete accuracy and security
• To have ability to generate updated reports and specifications.
The project began in 1999 and concluded in 2002 when all the history was put into the system. The archive system was put into practice in January 2000 and today more than 100 users have access to it at different sites including two in Israel and numerous others throughout the world.
